A Colorful February in RIJEKA

February took us to Rijeka — a weekend filled with love, friendship, sea views, and the joyful chaos of carnival season. What started as a simple Valentine’s getaway turned into three days of discovering corners of the city we didn’t expect to love so much.

We explored Rijeka’s secrets slowly: the quiet paths and sweeping views from Trsat Castle, the dramatic coastline around Stadion Kantrida, and the everyday rhythm of the city centre. Between walks, we celebrated Valentine’s Day with delicious food, warm conversations, and that feeling of being exactly where you’re meant to be.

And then came the Maskenbal.

Our friend Martina joined us for the big carnival parade — a burst of color, music, costumes, and pure happiness. Rijeka in February feels alive in a way that’s hard to describe: playful, loud, creative, and full of heart. Standing there in the middle of it all, surrounded by laughter and confetti, it felt like the whole city was celebrating life itself.
