A Winter Journey Through Plitvice, Slunj & Rastoke

Many winter days pass quietly, but this one felt like a small gift — a magical January trip wrapped in snow and silence.

What is usually a one‑hour drive to Plitvice Lakes turned into two, as winter slowed us down and made the journey even more special. Snow-covered forests, frozen paths, and quiet rivers created a fairytale atmosphere that felt almost untouched.

Lupa surprised us by falling completely in love with the snow, jumping through it with more joy than we expected, making the day even warmer despite the cold.

From Plitvice we continued toward Slunj and Rastoke, where we finally took the drone up into the crisp winter air. The rivers and waterfalls looked unreal from above — soft, white, and peaceful, like the world had paused for a moment.

We ended the day with a good meal, tired legs, and a calm sunset on the drive home — the kind of winter day that stays with you long after it melts.
