From the Exhibition
I have returned from Zagreb a long time ago. It was a short trip, just to open my exhibition and do what else needed to be done. My exhibition about Alternative photography was officially closed yesterday. The goal that I set to myself for that exhibition was: “to remind art lovers and public that photography is much more than just pressing the shutter on digital camera, which then does all the decisions for you”. It is an art form that has 400 plus different technics to choose from, only in printing, not to mention choices of taking the photo. Decisions that only the author can make.
I am a bit tired from all the things that is going on in Europe today and it is hard for me to continue to press on with art, but…
I still think that is very important (for the society) not to loose all that options in photography (the art-form that I love very dearly), and that all the “weird photographers” as myself – that are loving and working with old historical processes – are a necessity in the modern era even more than before. The collectors who buy our work are equally important as authors. They finance the idea that they believe in. So dear collectors, you are an inseparable part of keeping the alternative photography going.
