It’s a bit bombastic, I mean, the title.

Playing with infras

The thing is that few days ago was sunny in Kinsale. Yes, it’s Ireland and sun during winter is not a common occurrence. Well, I took my full spectrum adapted Fuji XA3 and decided to take some infrareds. Usually I was using a really clear blue sky days for such occasions.

Here is one example:

But, today the rain was coming and it was not sunny, but it was a spectacular sunrise and I took few infrareds just to see if it will work.

So, I think it works 🙂

Here are iPhone snaps with the same scene on Infrared.

Infrared on a cloudy day

It is quite dramatic I think.

Infrared on a cloudy morning

Low clouds were swiftly shifting, morning mist was covering horizon and bright yellow/orange sunrise. As I always say, there is no bad weather for photography. It is the feeling and drama that I wanted to convey.

More of my older Infrareds here.

One of the photographers asked me recently how I get my infras, well it is a camera, and a lot of experience that is involved. I use two digital softwares, nothing special, Affinity and Capture One and I tweak channels and saturation, a bit of colour adjustment. That’s it. Oh, yes, I do have a red filter attached as well.
