Primošten: Stone, Sea, and Stories
Primošten always feels like a place where history, landscape, and emotion meet. We started our day in the Bucavac vineyards — a stone mosaic shaped by centuries of hands.

Wine has been grown here since the Illyrians in the 8th century BC, continued by the Greeks and Romans, and later rebuilt by the Croats after the great migrations. Tombstones carved with grapes, amphorae, and wine presses still whisper that long story.

From there, our day shifted into something softer — the love story of Orson Welles and Oja Kodar, who spent more than two decades together in a villa above the sea here in Primošten, until Orson’s death in 1985. Their story adds a human heartbeat to this coastline, a reminder that even legends search for a place to belong.

And then, of course, the Adriatic itself: the old town wrapped in blue, the peninsula glowing under the sun, and the drone revealing Primošten from above — a perfect circle of stone, sea, and time.

To wrap up this little Primošten story, I also wanted to share two small things. First — the full video from this trip is on YouTube, with all the drone shots, vineyard textures, and Adriatic blues woven together. If you’d like to see the whole journey in motion, it’s waiting for you there. And second — I’ve recently opened a Ko‑fi page. It’s a simple way to support my work, and members get a few quiet extras, including a special pack of desktop wallpapers from my travels. If you feel like joining or just taking a look, you’re warmly invited.
