When the Road Closed in Velebit

What began as a simple plan — follow a mountain route through Velebit — turned into an unexpected off‑road adventure. One moment the road was open, and the next it ended with a closed sign. We could turn back, ignore it, or choose a different path.

We chose the third.

That choice led us onto rugged terrain, steep climbs, and rocky sections that photos can barely show. The mountains revealed a hidden route — unplanned, challenging, and far more rewarding than the original plan. Our Mercedes‑Benz GLC handled it with confidence, reminding us why it’s such a capable SUV for Croatia’s mountain roads.

But the real story was the reminder behind it.

Life works the same way. We make our plans, and sometimes the road closes. In those moments, the gentle leading of the Spirit of God invites us to pause, rethink, and take a path we never expected. And often, that unexpected route becomes the most beautiful part of the journey.
